What's it?
The Barcelona Design Festival, organized by BCD and FAD, aims to situate Barcelona as a world capital of design and innovation internationally. From 2th June to 10th July, this third edition aims to bring out the potential of companies, entrepreneurs and professionals and help them compete globally. With two main centres of activity -the Barcelona Design Week (2th June to 14th Juny) and the FADfest (25th June to 10th July) and the - this great event has an extensive program of activities that will bring design and society closer together and will promote design amongst citizens, professionals, entrepreneurs and the wider public, taking into consideration the economic and cultural dimensions of design.

The 37thedition of the MODAFAD gives continuity to an instrument launched last year, the Speed Talent T Project, a session in which thirty talented young people selected by the fashion schools can present themselves publicly to the people responsible for human resources in the fashion sector.

56th edition of the longest-running architecture prizes in the country: the FAD Awards to Architecture and Interior Design. The veritable barometer of excellence in architecture in the Iberian peninsula. They were created in order to drive avant-garde currents forward and today maintain the commitment to fostering the principal values of architecture and interior design demanded by current sociocultural reality.

Preview of «Yves Saint Laurent»  (2013, Jalil Lespert), a look at the French designer’s life, from the start of his career in 1958 when he met his life and work partner, Pierre Berge. The documentary is a monument to one of the most creative talents ever seen in the world of fashion.

37th edition of MODAFAD, the catwalk show of emerging fashion designers, the yardstick for the future of fashion. The MODAFAD is back with its catwalk show of emerging designers, a selection of the best dissertation projects by students of design schools from all over the country. The shows will culminate in the prize-giving of the MODAFAD T Project Fashion Awards.

A documentary film on the advertising sector in the United States. The film follows the trajectory of people from the “creative advertising revolution of the 1960s”. The documentary includes advertising campaigns such as "Just Do It", "I Love New York", "Where's the beef?", "I Want My MTV", "Got Milk?" and "Think Different".

Urban problems and the urban strategies implemented by cities to respond to them are put to reflection and debate in an academic environment. The people responsible for the winning city, students, anthropologists, sociologists, political scientists, architects, designers… all come together in a session that sizes up urban planning and the needs of the citizens.

The CraftRoom is the crafts hall of Catalonia. It hosts a display and sale of Catalan crafts from different sectors and trades: fashion, jewellery, household items, gifts, decoration items, among others, with workshops and craft companies from Spain, Europe and a guest country.

Quitllet is one of the most internationally renowned Catalan designers. He has spent most of his career in Paris, signing projects with Philippe Starck. Established in Barcelona since 2011, Quitllet reveals in his designs the outlines concealed in the material, the skeletons of ultra-plastic objects where elegance plays with full and empty spaces, often humorously. 
Prize-giving of the City to City Barcelona FAD Award 2014.Prize. Where. Saló de Cent de l'Ajuntament de Barcelona / Pl. de Sant Jaume, 1. Organizes. FAD
Fifth edition of the City to City Barcelona FAD Award, the international prize that annually recognizes from Barcelona any urban transformation processes in cities all over the world. This year the prize will be awarded to the city of Mumbai, which will be recognized for the “Gorai Landfill Closure and Gas Capture” project. Accompanying it will be the winners of mentions, Alto Belice Corleonese (Italy) for “Libera Terra”; Bangladesh for “Slums, City and Education in Architecture”; and Kibera (Kenya) for Map Kibera.
